Otro Mundo is a paradise for nature lovers. We can suggest many fantastic walks in the area. We have also set out a few routes that start at the doorstep of your dome. Guided hikes are also possible. We have explored the region and put togheter a nice collection of trails.
GUIDED HIKE TO CUEVA DEL NIÑO
Only a 10 minute drive from your dome you will find the starting point of the hike to the Cueva del Niño. Here you can admire paleolithic art (10.000 - 15.000 BC), which is listed on UNESCO's heritage list. We arrange guided hikes to the cave.
We offer guided MTB tours. Soak up the surroundings while exercising your muscles. Routes can be tailored to your experience level.

KIDS HIKES & ACTIVITIES
We offer hikes especially tailored to children; letting them explore at their own pace and learning about nature in a fun way. We also organize activities on request like Arts&Crafts using all sorts of cool stuff that we collect from nature or things we can re- and upcycle. Cool hikes exploring the surroundings or painting under a tree. Kids can also enjoy themselves on the playground (swings, seesaw, big trampoline, playhouse and slide) or in the shallow part of the swimming pool. You can also play with, pet or feed the animals.
Cool off in our Natural Swimming Pool with water from the spring or bring that book and place yourself in the hammock underneath the grapevines.
FRIDAY NIGHT FILM
Every Friday night you can enjoy a film on the porch bigscreen, carefully selected by yours truly ;)
FOOD & FORAGING
Dinner Night Every Wednesday and Saturday we offer an exclusive dinner on the communal porch.
You can enjoy a three course vegan meal including a bottle of wine while you watch the sun go down and the stars come out.
Breakfast Basket Begin your day with a wholesome breakfast delivered to your Dome's doorstep. Open your door to smell that freshly home-baked bread!
Fruitpicking Otro Mundo is situated on old terraces with lots of fruit trees. Depending on the month you are here we can direct you to some spots where you can pick your own fruit.
Veggie Basket If yields are sufficient we offer vegetable baskets with organic home-grown produce. Tasty and wholesome!
Among Spain’s indigenous animals are a wide variety of deer, Iberian wild goats, wild boar, bats, snakes, small reptiles and amphibians.
Keep your eyes and ears open and discover the huge variety of birds visiting Otro Mundo. The birds that have been spotted here include the Crested Serpent-eagle, Oriole, Hoopoo, Bee-eater, Heron, Eurasian Scops and the Kestrel.
Together with the Sierra de Cazorla and La Villa Natural Park, the Sierra del Segura forms the largest protected area of Spain (over 2000 square kilometers).
It's a very green part of Spain, where two rivers, the Rio Mundo and the Taibilla, originate.
The wildlife, although not very noticeable at first, is splendid
The area has many protected reserves, which allow the wildlife to flourish.
There are about 2000 kilometers of mountain-bike routes in the Sierra del Segura, making it a true mountain-bikers paradise.
The routes vary from relaxed to challenging The asphalt roads are in excellent shape, making the region perfectly accessible to road cyclists as well.

If you fancy a return to civilization, there are great towns and villages in the area.
In Elche de la Sierra there is a market every Thursday.
There are a number of shops and bakeries, as well as a supermarket. Be sure to visit the old Centre which still has an ancient public launderette with water literally rushing in from the mountains.
Also be sure to visit the town of Yeste, with its fortress and beautiful streets and surroundings.
Another great town to visit is Riopar, to the west, which provides a different scenery altogether, with dense forests and the origin of the Rio Mundo; a spectacular waterfall at a height of 100 meters. Ayna is a small village an hour's drive from Otro Mundo, heading north. It's a popular holiday destination due to its breathtaking scenery and pleasant climate. Other fun stuff you can experience in the region includes: swimming in one of the rivers or lakes, kayaking, climbing, horse riding, vineyard visits, paint-ball, etc. etc. In short, the region is very surprising and quite unknown still to outside tourists.
